College Workshop IntensiveJune 16-20
Time TBA Potential Guest Instructors include Craig Carnelia (composer/lyricist Is There Life After High School ), Tom Burke ( speech pathologist and renowned voice instructor ), Rob Meffe ( Broadway Musical Director ), Bob Cline ( Casting director ), and Jen Waldman ( actor/acting instructor ). Students will find the emotional core of song text; learn about the physiology of the voice and how it applies to singing and voice over work, work on audition technique, and the new acting technique, Viewpoints. This is a phenomenal opportunity for college students to build their connections with some of the most sought after theatre industry professionals in New York City. Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
Dance Camp for BeginnersJuly 14 -19 This camp gives students the opportunity to explore the basics of Theatre Dance which include: tap, jazz and ballet. Each session will be divided into 3 sections, allowing students to learn 3 dance routines from each style. Campers will perform for friends and family at The Studio on July 19.
GreaseJune 23-June 28 Broadway's hottest musical comes to The Studio! Campers will learn songs and scenes from the Broadway musical Grease to create a full show during this fun 6-day camp. This camp will focus on stage presence, vocal technique and projection, movement, and acting skills that will build self-confidence. This is a high energy intensive camp where all members have their moment in the spotlight, and will perform for friends and family June 28 at 2:00 pm on The Studio Stage. Our campers will also have the opportunity to take a field trip into New York City to see the Broadway production of Grease on June 28 following the camp performance (ticket price not included). Enrollment is limited.
Willy Wonka The MusicalJuly 7-12 The Studio will bring to life the famous story of the Candy Man searching for an heir to create a phenomenal musical adventure. Our campers will perform these songs and scenes during this fun 6-day camp to create a full show! This camp will focus on stage presence, vocal technique and projection, movement, and acting skills that will build self-confidence. They will also paint scenery, create costumes, and learn tricks from a make up artist. All campers will have their moment in the spotlight, and will perform for friends and family July 12 at 2:30 pm. Enrollment is limited.
Intermediate/Advanced Dance Workshop IntensiveJuly 28-August 1 Dancers will have the opportunity work with the industry's finest talent. Students will focus daily on a specific dance discipline including Ballet, Jazz, Latin, Tap, and Hip Hop. Parents are welcome to view the last 15 minutes of each workshop. A minimum of 3 years experience in at least 2 disciplines is required for the full week of participation. Disney CampJuly 21-25 Campers will sing and dance to their hearts content while performing their favorite Disney songs. This popular, fast paced camp will focus on stage presence, projection, movement, and acting skills that will build self-confidence and sharpen motor skills. Budding artists will also paint scenery, create costumes, and have character face painting! Campers will perform the show for friends and family July 25 (Disney Camp 1 at 2:00, Disney Camp 2 at 4:30). Enrollment is limited.
Performance Art Camp for BoysAugust 4-8 This camp focuses on performance art in the commercial industry today. Students will be divided into age specific groups to work on Hip Hop dancing, Pop, Rock, alternative, funk, R&B, and musical theatre singing technique, and on camera acting. Campers will also have the opportunity to perform with Camp instructors and members from our own Studio School of Rock Bands. Friends and family are invited to a casual performance at 2:30 on August 8. |
POLICIESPayment Payment for the summer is due in full by July 1.If payment is not received by July 10 th ; $15 will be added to the next billing cycle as a late fee. If payment has not been received before July 20th, the student will not be allowed to take the next lesson until the balance is paid. If a student misses a lesson after June 11, and before payment is received, the student is still held responsible for the lesson. If lessons are scheduled after July 10, payment is due July 20. If there is financial difficulty, please bring it to our attention, and we will try to provide as much flexibility as possible. If you have questions regarding billing, please send an email to Louise at ALRFinancial@snet.net . Absence There will be no make-up lessons or reimbursements. Students are responsible for all of their scheduled lessons beginning June 11. Please double check scheduled lessons and mark your calendar to avoid conflicts. To avoid forfeiting the lesson in case of conflict, students may choose the following options: 1. Students may trade lessons with other students. We will email the schedule with contact information weekly. Please contact trade students personally. The Studio will not make these arrangements. 2. Call a substitute student. Some of our students opt to sub in the summer and will reimburse for lessons taken. We will send the names of our subs in the weekly schedule email each week. There may not be subs available from week to week. Regardless, students are responsible for their scheduled lessons. Siblings, parents, grandparents, friends, or neighbors may also substitute for the lesson. These lessons are very fun, and are highly encouraged. Know that the substitute list is provided as a courtesy, and it is the student's responsibility to find a replacement if reimbursement is desired. The Studio is not responsible for finding a substitute student to cover the lesson. Students registering after July 10 have 7 days from their registration date to change their lessons. After 14 days, lessons may not be cancelled, and absence policies 1 and 2 will then apply. Substitute Reimbursement Once the student has been called and has accepted the lesson, please inform them of the name in which to write the check, your home address, and the lesson total. The student will be asked to send reimbursement within 5 days. If you have not received reimbursement within 7 days, please contact The Studio.
