Mondays: (6 weeks) Class will not be held on Oct. 13, Columbus Day
Instructor Alyssa MacEnaney

This class is designed for the most accomplished performers who are prepared to take a college level acting class. Students will explore the Meisner Technique, focusing on listening and reacting truthfully to the other actor from moment to uninterrupted moment. This includes sensory work, relaxation, method vocabulary and application, text analysis, scene study and monologue work.

Saturdays (7 weeks)
Instructor: Piper Goodeve
Grades 4-6: 12:30-1:30 ($165)
This class is designed for young, serious acting students with prior training in acting and/or improv. We will explore text analysis, voice, and speech as a whole and as it applies to each scene. Scene work will include contemporary realism and bringing yourself to any role you play. This class will focus on listening, speaking with your own voice from your true self, and working without tension. Admittance is by audition or recommendation from Studio Instructors.

Students will explore good use of voice and speech, starting with a set of voice and speech warm ups to strengthen and fine-tune the actor’s instrument. Scene work/monologue work will be through contemporary realism. This advanced class will focus on the process of dissecting a scene and really living in it and the character, rather than driving for an end result. Students will also explore the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) and use it as a tool to work on monologues that require different dialects. This class will not include improv or theater games, and therefore admittance into this advanced class is allowed only by audition and/or recommendation by Studio Instructors.
