Lindsey Simpson
Lindsey Simpson is thrilled to be returning to The Studio where she was a student herself, studying under executive director, Melissa Spevacek! Lindsey graduated summa cum laude from Colgate University with a degree awarded with high honors in English Literature and a minor in Educational Studies. At Colgate, Lindsey was an active participant in the dance, music, and theater community- some of her favorite roles including Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, Mary Lane in Reefer Madness, and Hope Cladwell in Urinetown. Lindsey also created and directed many musical theater cabaret reviews which are now produced every semester at Colgate. Also a graduate of New Canaan High School and an active member of the theater community there, some may remember her as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Of her many performances opportunities, Lindsey’s proudest theatrical accomplishment has been combining her love of theater with her passion for working with children as the Creative Director and Co-Founder of The Oz Project at the Palace Theater in Hamilton, NY—an inclusive musical theater program aimed at developing and enhancing social skills through theatrical performance for children with and without special needs in grades K-6. Lindsey served as the director/choreographer for Bye Bye Birdie Camp and Disney Camp at The Studio this summer and is a third grade apprentice teacher at the Country School in New Canaan and a graduate student at Columbia University’s Teachers College, where she is working toward a Master’s degree in Elementary Inclusive Education with a dual certification in Special Education.
