Cassie Abate
Cassie graduated from University of Miami with a BFA in Musical Theatre. As a performer, favorite credits include the National Tour of Urban Cowboy (Bubbles), 42nd Street at North Shore Music Theatre (Lorraine), Lady Be Good (Shirley) at Surflight Theatre, West Side Story (Maria u/s) and Peter Pan at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Pirates of Penzance (Mabel), Singin’ in the Rain (Kathy Selden), and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Snoopy). As a choreographer, credits include Pirates of Penzance at the Stephen Sondheim Center, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, and Music Man at the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre, Moby Dick: the Musical at Theatre Workshop of Nantucket and assistant choreographer for The Brain From Planet X at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. As a tapper, Cassie has been privileged to train with some of the greats such as Gregory Hines and Ryan Kasprzak as well as performing in New York for Gil Stroming’s Break the Floor. She was also a competitive swing dancer and a finalist at the U.S. Open National Swing Dance Championship. Cassie now teaches tap at Montclair State University and is a member of Actor’s Equity Association.
