Our faculty is comprised of the highest caliber of industry professionals who audition or perform in the theatre and music industry every day, therefore; they know, and teach, what it takes to succeed with joy and enthusiasm. The core of our program is built upon solid technique, and our goal is to prepare our students to be great dancers. With our training and their hard work, they will own the skills to play the lead in their school musical, enter a college program, star in a Broadway show, or tour with a famous artist. We look forward to helping you to find the perfect class that will bring out the very best in you, or your child.

Our introductory 15 week program offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop Jazz, and Musical Theatre Dance. We understand and take into consideration the busy schedule of children these days, so our program is thoughtfully and specifically designed to cater to the hectic schedules of the family. We have beginner, intermediate and advanced classes offered 6 days a week that coincide with our acting and musical theatre classes upstairs. Our classes can be as small as 2 students and will never be larger than 15. All students will have the opportunity to perform at the end of each semester, and each student can look forward to their moment in the spotlight. Although many of our students are interested in dance for the purpose of theatrical auditions, we STRONGLY recommend that all students take a ballet class in addition to any other style of dance, particularly within your first 3 years of study.

Payment
Payment must be made at the time of registration. We accept cash, checks and credit (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). A processing fee of $2.50 will be made to all credit card transactions. Students will not be allowed to participate in class until payment has been made in full. If payment is difficult, please speak with executive director, Melissa Spevacek, for payment options.

Students who take 2 or more classes will receive a 5% discount off of the total cost of their dance lessons for this semester.

Financial Assistance
Students may offset the cost of their dance training by becoming a Student Office Team Member. Please contact the office manager, Holly Baris, for more information.

Late Registration
We are aware that students may be interested in classes, but unable to attend until mid-semester due to performance commitments, or lack of awareness. We encourage new students, and ask you to respect the progress of the class by taking one or two private lessons, to learn the technique and choreography that has already been taught. Class entry will be left to discretion of the class instructor. Due to the unusual timing of our opening, classes may also be formed well into the semester depending upon space availability. Please inquire.

Recitals
Recitals will be held in December and June.   All dancers are strongly encouraged to participate as it will give them the opportunity to display their progress throughout the year. It is a very low-pressure performance for everyone to enjoy. Parents will be responsible for costumes, and a performance fee may be required depending on the performance location. If for any reason your dancer will not be participating, please inform the office manager, Holly Baris, ASAP .

Fees
We do not require a registration fee. We may require a recital fee depending on our performance location. TBA

Class Placement
Class Placement will be made at the discretion of the director and faculty. During The first two weeks of the program, assessment will be made to ensure that each child is participating in the proper class, and level, in which they will most benefit.   If an instructor feels as though a student would benefit more from moving to a different class or level, a request will be made within the first 2 weeks.

IIf your child feels as though the level is inappropriate, a further evaluation may be also be requested. All decisions will be made with your child's best interest in mind.

Class Viewing
To insure the highest educational gain, and allow the teacher to maintain a students' focus, we request that viewing of class work be done only on the days which we have set aside as visiting days.   Parent/Visitor observation week will be April 21-26. We hope you will join us.

Attendance
CONSISTANT ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED! Class attendance is a crucial aspect in a dancer's progression. If a student is unable to dance, but well enough to attend class, we will expect them to participate through taking notes, giving feedback if requested, and being as much a part of the lesson as possible. We understand that students may need to miss class due to illness, family emergency, or performance commitments . However, in the interest of progress, students will be required to take at least one private lesson for every 2 classes missed.   (Private lessons are not included in the cost of the class). Also, for student safety, your child will not be able to dance in class if they arrive more than 10 minutes late but they may observe the class and take notes. Make up classes may be taken if the same class level/style is offered on an alternate day. You will be HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT, even if you, or your child, do not attend class. Our program is a 15 week commitment and we ask that students commit to the program seriously.

Adding/Dropping Classes
Students may drop a class only until March10 to receive a refund. Students dropping a class after March 10 will receive a refund in the form of credit only until March 17. Dropped classes will be forfeited after March 17. You may only add a class if it is not full. A waiting list will be made for those classes exceeding maximum enrollment.

Schedule
Changes or cancellations may occur at the discretion of The Studio.

Staff Accountability
Instructors sometimes have auditions and show dates that may interfere with class duties.   There will be a qualified, professional staff substitute scheduled for all instructor absences, and students will be required to attend. If we are unable to find a substitute, a make up class will be scheduled. If, and only if,   the unusual event occurs when a make up class is not possible, students will be issued a credit for the class missed.

Liability
The Studio is not responsible for injury or lost property.   Students and parents release claims of liability while studying at The Studio. We recommend that all students label their shoes and clothing to prevent loss. Our lost and found box is located on the second floor.
